Baptism

Like first-generation Christians, we practice baptism by immersion. Those seeking to be baptized are believers who are mature enough intellectually and emotionally to commit themselves to a life of discipleship, trusting and obeying in Jesus.

We do not believe that baptismal water holds any saving power in itself; rather we believe the water symbolizes the saving power of God. The work of salvation is totally dependent on the grace and mercy of God, not man.

Baptism is simply part of the faith-response to the good news of Jesus Christ.

Consider this: “When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared he saved us, not because righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior.” (Titus 3:4-6)
